Advancing nature-based and science-driven shrimp farming through farmer engagement
Today FISHBYTE LTD organized an interactive farmer dialogue at the Shaheed Jobed Ali Auditorium, Dumuria Upazila Parishad, Khulna, bringing together local shrimp farmers for an afternoon of knowledge-sharing and practical discussion.
The session focused on nature-based and science-driven approaches to shrimp farming, with farmers actively participating in discussions around better farm management, production practices, and practical solutions to common challenges.
The open and interactive format encouraged farmers to share their field experiences, raise questions, and engage directly in discussions aimed at improving their understanding of more efficient and sustainable farming practices.
FISHBYTE believes that meaningful change in aquaculture begins with farmers having access to practical knowledge, reliable technical guidance, and appropriate solutions. Rather than promoting unnecessary input use, FISHBYTE advocates for better-informed farm management practices that can help farmers control costs, reduce avoidable risks, and improve productivity.
The enthusiastic participation of the Dumuria farming community made the session a valuable opportunity for two-way knowledge exchange. FISHBYTE appreciates everyone who contributed to the discussion and shared their experiences.
This initiative forms part of FISHBYTE’s ongoing effort to build stronger connections with shrimp and prawn farming communities across southern Bangladesh and to bring knowledge, technology, quality solutions, and technical support closer to farmers.
