Promoting quality seed and practical, nature-based farming practices

FISHBYTE Ltd. recently organized a special farmer knowledge-sharing session at the Upazila Livestock and Veterinary Hospital Hallroom in Rupsha Upazila, Khulna, focusing on nature-based and science-driven approaches to shrimp and aquaculture farming.

The session brought together Rupsha Upazila local farmers for an open discussion on some of the key factors influencing successful aquaculture production, including quality shrimp seed, pond preparation, and effective farm management.

Farmers actively participated in the discussion and raised a range of questions regarding the availability and quality of post-larvae (PL). FISHBYTE’s team addressed their concerns and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting farmers with access to quality seed, alongside practical guidance throughout pond preparation and the farming cycle.

The discussion reinforced FISHBYTE’s belief that sustainable improvement in aquaculture depends on combining quality inputs with sound science, practical knowledge, and continuous farmer support. For smallholder farmers in particular, having access to reliable technical guidance at the right stage of production can make a meaningful difference in farm performance.

The Rupsha session is part of FISHBYTE’s ongoing initiative to engage directly with farming communities across aquaculture-producing areas of Bangladesh. Through these knowledge-sharing sessions, FISHBYTE aims to create a stronger connection between farmers, technical experts, and reliable aquaculture solutions.
